motor and as a general rule are
considerably lighter and faster the battery-powered
scooters, please view the comparison table for
full details
4. Are Raz Scooters legal and where can I ride
my scooter ?
All products supplied by Raz-Scooters are manufactured
to the highest standards, however, we must stress
that our scooters (as with scooters manufactured
by all other companies) are not intended for use
on public roads or pathways.
All our scooters are perfectly legal to ride on
private land (with the owners permission of course!).
Since petrol fuelled and electric scooters first
arrived in the UK around five years ago, they
really have become a phenomenally successful craze,
it must be stressed that if these vehicles are
used on the public highway, because of there small
engine capacity and low speed capabilities, they
are classed as category P mopeds.
Section 185 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and the
Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations
1986 define a motorcycle as being a mechanically
propelled vehicle with less than four wheels and
weighing under 410kg. Because an internal combustion
engine powers petrol scooters they are regarded
by the government as “mechanically propelled”
for the purposes of the 1988 Act and the 1986
Regulations.
It’s worth remembering that as the scooter
craze continues to grow, more and more go-kart
tracks will begin to accommodate scooters for
local scooter tournaments and organized scooter
races.
Please keep viewing our site and we’ll do
our best to give you fresh information on go-ped
tournaments – electric scooter races –
petrol mini-scooter courses and much, much more.
5. How fast will Raz BuzzBoards
go?
The speeds of raz-scooters vary depending on the
model you choose, this is basically affected by
the engine type, size and of course the weight.
The speed range starts at
12km/h and peaks at 42km/h.
6. Are they easy to set up and operate?
Most scooters do require some simple home-assembly,
we always recommend that this is done and inspected
by a competent adult, full instructions are always
supplied and Raz-scooters are always available
to answer any questions you may have.
